IRDEP is a joint research unit, with employees from EDF, CNRS, Chimie-Paristech . IRDEP works on thin film photovoltaic solar cells and high efficiency solar cells, often called 2nd and 3rd generations. These technologies are being developped as possible replacement of silicium solar cells in some applications (Building Integrated, portable, Vehicle integrated, …).The IRDEP trains higher education students, engineers and PhD students from the ENSCP in particular. The IRDEP also plays a key part in the scientific and technological watch process, and in national and international scientific coordination. In this respect, the IRDEP plans scientific seminars and conferences for the national and international scientific community, but also for the public or players from the economic and social world, in certain cases.
