Among its institutional objectives, CETENE strives for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary excellence in nanotechnology, fostering cooperation and identifying new areas of research that would benefit from cooperation between different researcher teams. Being a national center for scientific and technological cooperation, it involves training of personnel and technicians and is open to conduct research by professors and students from various institutions in the Northeast region, in addition to supporting the activities of visiting scientists. CETENE encourages an active cooperation with industry, both in terms of specialized technical services and in offering consultancy. The use of the infrastructure, facilities, equipment and laboratories is made available to third parties, and CETENE stands open for development of joint research. To this end the center has partners among universities, institutes of technology and research, government bodies, associations and industries.
